Privacy policy
Draft, under legal review. This text may change before launch.
Skuody is a party-game platform: a TV or a browser hosts the room and phones are controllers. This page explains what we collect, why, where it is kept and for how long. Operator details and the data protection contact will be added after legal review.
Playing as a guest
You don't need an account to play. Your name, avatar, colour and language are kept on your phone, in the app or your browser. They are shared with the host of the room you join, which reports its guests to us (device ID, name, avatar, colour and language). We keep that record for 5 years after you were last seen, and support can delete it sooner. Game state lives on the host, not in our cloud.
Joining from a browser
A browser can't reach a room directly at first, so our servers pass the connection messages between your phone and the host. They carry no gameplay. Rooms are limited to one network unless the host allows remote players: to check this we compare your network with the host's using a one-way code made from your public IP address, and we don't store the address.
If you sign in
If you sign in (with an email code, Google or Apple), we keep your account: email address, display name, avatar and language, your purchases and Plus status, and your scores and stats on leaderboards.
Your TV or browser host
When the TV app first goes online it registers a device ID and basic facts (model, app version, language) so it can get the game catalog and keep your room code reachable. A browser host is signed in from a phone, and is linked to that account.
Usage data
TVs and browser hosts send anonymous gameplay events (for example "a round started") so we can fix problems and improve games. Raw events are deleted after 90 days; hourly totals after 2 years.
Contact messages
When you write to support, we keep your message, email and name to answer you. Closed tickets are deleted 2 years after the last update.
Where your data is stored
In Amazon Web Services' eu-central-1 region (Frankfurt, Germany). Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account. 30 days after deletion we remove your sessions, tokens, stats and your name on scores.
- Purchase records of deleted accounts: 7 years after the last update, as required for accounting.
- Moderation reports: 1 year.
Your choices
You can play without an account, delete your account in the app, change cookie choices on this site at any time ("Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page), and contact us through the support page.
